CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard women's volleyball team will travel to Smithfield, R.I., this weekend, Sept. 2-3, to kick off its 2022 season. The Crimson will compete in the Bryant Invitational where it will match up against the home team, Bryant, on Friday, Sept. 2, at 7 p.m., before taking on Montana State on Saturday at 10 a.m., followed by Boston College at 4 p.m.
What to Know
- Harvard finished the 2021 season with an overall 10-13 record and an Ivy League mark of 7-7. The team is going into the 2022 season ranked fourth in the Ivy League preseason poll.
- Bryant has started its season with a 1-2 record going into Friday's match. The Bulldogs defeated the Crimson in last year's matchup. Harvard will play 0-3 Montana State for the first time ever this weekend followed by Boston College (3-0), which won the last matchup vs. the Crimson in 2019.
- Seniors
Jaimie Rao and
Bella Almanza will lead the team as captains throughout the season. Along with junior
Olivia Cooper, the captains were named to last year's All-Ivy Honorable Mention team.
