NEW HAVEN, CT – No. 2 Harvard Women's Squash (4-0, 3-0 Ivy) returned to action this afternoon against No. 5 Yale (2-2, 0-1 Ivy). In their first top-five matchup of the season the Crimson handled the Bulldogs, sweeping them 9-0 with relative ease.
Harvard Highlights
- At the No. 7 position Amira Singh went up 2-0 early before dropping the next two games but fought back to secure a win in her first appearance of the season for the Crimson.
- In a back-and-forth match, Brecon Welch prevailed in the fifth game to grab the clinching win for Harvard with four contests outstanding.
- The Crimson dominated in the final four matches of the night. Habiba Eldafrawy downed her opponent 3-1 while Charlotte Orcutt, Evie Coxon, and Marina Stefanoni all swept 3-0. Harvard won its last four matches in an average of less than 25 minutes.
- Along with Orcutt, Coxon, and Stefanoni, Binney Huffman also swept her opponent at the No. 9 position.
- At the No. 1 position, Stefanoni only dropped 11 points on the day, the least by any Crimson player.
- Harvard now leads the all-time series versus Yale 46-15 and extends its winning streak against the Bulldogs to 14.
