Men’s Tennis Falls to North Carolina

CHAPEL HILL, NC – In the championship of the ITA Kickoff Weekend, No. 13 Harvard Men's Tennis fell in a hard-fought battle with No. 17 North Carolina, 4-1.
 
The day began with the Tar Heels stealing the doubles point from the Crimson with wins at the No. 1 and 3 positions.  As play moved into singles, Harvard battled back as Daniel Milavsky defeated Karl Poling (UNC) in straight sets to bring the score to 2-1. 
 
Although Henry von der Schulenburg and Harris Walker were pushing ahead in their matches, wins at the No. 3 and 5 positions ultimately sealed the win for the Tar Heels.  With the win North Carolina increased its lead in the all-time series with Harvard to 41-11.

Next Up

Next weekend the Crimson will head out to the Midwest for a pair of top-25 matchups.  First, the Crimson will take on No. 24 Northwestern on Friday February 3 at 7:00 p.m.  On Sunday February 5, Harvard will close their road trip with their toughest opponent of the year so far as they face No. 4 Michigan at 12:00 p.m.
