Women's Rugby Captures Ivy 15s Title With Thrilling Win At Dartmouth

HANOVER, N.H. – Harvard women's rugby captured its third Ivy 15s championship in dramatic fashion, taking down rival Dartmouth on the road, 19-17. The Crimson bested the Big Green with a try and conversion in the final moments of the match, as Neasa McLaughlin tied the game with a try and Skylar Jordan secured the win with a conversion.

Harvard finishes the 15s regular season with a perfect 7-0 record, posting the first undefeated and untied 15s regular season in program history. Throughout the regular season, the Crimson has outscored its opponents 360-60.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The physicality of both programs was on display in the first half, as each side produced just seven points in the first 40 minutes. The Crimson started the scoring, as Lennox London powered her way into the try zone. A successful conversion from Chloe Headland put Harvard up, 7-0. Dartmouth responded quickly, tying the game with a try and conversion, 7-7.

Harvard opened the second half with positive attacking play, spending the first ten minutes of the half in Dartmouth territory. The Crimson broke through at the 51-minute mark, taking the lead with a try from Olyvia Snyder, 12-7. Dartmouth registered the tying try, missing the go-ahead conversion, 12-12.

With five minutes to go, Dartmouth capitalized on a scrum five yards from the try line, scoring a go-ahead try with 1:30 left on the clock. The Big Green missed the conversion, 17-12.

The Crimson kicked off at the 79th-minute mark, gaining possession after Dartmouth mishandled the ball. Harvard powered all the way down to the try zone, as McLaughlin dove forward into the zone to tie the game, 17-17. Jordan drilled the match-winning conversion, sending the Ivy 15s title back to Cambridge.
