PHILADELPHIA – No. 2 seed Harvard University men's soccer fell to No. 3 seed Yale University in the semifinals of the Ivy League Tournament, 4-0, on Friday afternoon at Dunning-Cohen Champions Field at Penn Park on the campus of No. 1 seed Penn.
Competing in the inaugural four-team event, the Crimson (5-5-7) trailed the Bulldogs (9-5-3), 1-0, at halftime before Yale scored three goals in the second half.
The two teams split the season series as Harvard topped Yale, 3-1, on Oct. 14 during the regular season.
Harvard Highlights
- Among Harvard's field players, junior defender Nik White and junior forward Alessandro Arlotti each played the full 90 minutes. For the year, Riecke played 1,513 of a possible 1,530 minutes on the season.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Lucian Wood made six saves, tallying five or more saves for the fourth time this season.
- Senior defender Nik White posted team highs in shots (two) and shots on goal (two)
- Harvard went 4-2-3 over its last nine games of 2023.

How It Happened
- Harvard generated a pair of early chances as a shot from sophomore Ethan Veghte went just wide in the first minute, and senior Ale Gutierrez tested the keeper with a shot on goal in the fourth minute.
- Yale held a 1-0 lead at halftime after Eric Lagos scored in the 23rd minute off an assist from Sam Harshe.
- The Bulldogs took a 2-0 edge in the 56th minute as Lagos netted his second goal of the game with an assist from Quanah Brayboy.
- In the 59th minute, Yale moved ahead 3-0 behind a goal from Brayboy.
- Yale closed the game's scoring in the 78th minute as Jamie Orson scored following an assist from Yasin Aly.
