CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - After winning the Ivy League Tournament today, No. 9 Harvard field hockey will head to North Carolina to play Rutgers in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Announced this evening on ESPN, Harvard heads to the NCAA tournament for the eighth time in program history and the fourth time since 2015.
- Harvard won a total of 15 games this season - its highest since 2021 when it went to the final four.
- The Crimson had four ranked wins this season.
- Harvard held its position in the NFHCA coaches poll for the entire 2023 regular season and even got as high as No. 9 to finish the year.
- The Crimson defense has held strong all season and is highly ranked throughout multiple defensive metrics. Harvard has only allowed two goals since Oct. 6.
- Harvard currently sits at No. 8 in the latest RPI.
This will be the first matchup with Rutgers in program history
