Men's Tennis Earns Spot in ECAC Championship After Defeating Cornell

HANOVER, NH – In the semifinals of the ECAC Tournament, No. 14 Harvard Men's Tennis bested Cornell, 4-1, to advance to the ECAC Championship.

To begin the day, Ronan Jachuck and Steven Sun grabbed yet another doubles win to improve to 7-1 for the spring season.  Despite grabbing the first win of the day, the Crimson would fall in doubles after dropping both the No. 2 and 3 position matches.

Moving into singles, it was all Crimson wins for the rest of the night.  No. 10 Henry von der Schulenburg got the Crimson on the board in his return to singles play defeating his opponent at the No. 2 position in straight sets.  Daniel Milavsky added the second win of the day for the Crimson by also downing his opponent in straight set fashion.

Steven Sun and Valdemar Pape added the final two wins to secure the overall victory for the Crimson.  Both Sun and Pape dropped the first set but battled back to take the second two sets and the wins for Harvard.

Harvard Highlights

  • Jachuck and Sun grabbed the only doubles win of the day to improve to an impressive 7-1 spring season record.  The win is the pairs first at the No. 1 position.
  • von der Schulenburg returned to singles play today and his win brings him to 4-0 for the spring.  von der Schulenburg is the only Crimson player that remains undefeated this spring.
