Men's Tennis Falls in Battle Against No. 70 Utah

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – No. 7 Harvard Men's Tennis dropped a tight, 4-2, match in the finals of the Ed Collins Spring Classic to No. 70 University of Utah.
 
Despite David Lins and Alan Yim picking up the first win of the day at the No. 3 doubles position, the Crimson began down 1-0 after dropping matches at the No. 1 and 2 spots.
 
The Crimson battled back, picking up the next two wins of the day from Ronan Jachuck and Steven Sun in singles.  Jachuck and Sun both dominated grabbing their wins in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3 and 6-3, 7-5, respectively. 
 
Despite taking every other match to three sets, the Crimson were bested in three other singles matches.  With one match outstanding, the Utes ultimately clinched the match with a win at the No. 1 singles position.

Harvard Highlights

  • In the Crimson two singles wins today, Ronan Jachuck and Steven Sun defeated their opponents in straight sets.
  • Jachuck dominated in his singles match, winning a pair of 6-3 decisions to pick up the first win of the day for the Crimson.
  • Sun picked up his third win in a row defeating Bruno Caula in straight sets at the No. 5 position for the Crimson.
  • With the win, the Utes tied up the all-time series at 3-3.
