Harvard-Radcliffe Heavyweight Rowing Opens Spring Season With Big 10/Ivy Double Dual

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -  The Harvard-Radcliffe heavyweight women's rowing team is back on the water this weekend for the team's first race of the spring season. The Crimson will race in the Big 10/ Ivy Double Dual on the Cooper River in Cherry Hill, NJ on Saturday, March 25th.

What To Know

This will be the first race for the whole Crimson team since the Princeton Chase regatta on November 6th, 2022. The Crimson will have five boats competing in this race, including the first and second varsity fours and three varsity eights. The first races for the Crimson will be against Rutgers and Syracuse, then Ohio State in the afternoon.

At the helm, Coach O'Leary is in her 37th year guiding the Harvard-Radcliffe heavyweight crew. "Our squad is ready to kick off the 2023 racing season!", said The Friends of Radcliffe Rowing Head Coach for Women's Heavyweight Crew Liz O'Leary. "After some strong results at the Head of the Charles and Princeton Chase last fall, the team used that momentum to put together a really solid body of work over the winter. It was exciting to see that pay off as we got back into boats this Spring. We have spent the last week fine-tuning lineups and all boats and are looking forward to going up against some fast competitors this weekend!" The team's leadership is supported by senior captains Morgan Blind and Ella Hudson
