CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – No. 14 Harvard women's water polo fell to No. 13 Michigan early Saturday morning in a big conference matchup against the Wolverines. The Crimson bounced back and defeated Bucknell by a score of 19-7. The Crimson is back in action tomorrow against Saint Francis at 10:30 a.m. to wrap up the weekend. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
The Crimson came out firing to start game two as the seniors lead the way.
Brooke Hourigan scored first to open the game while
Borden Wahl added a pair of goals. Goalie
Zoe Banks was incredible early on after stopping a penalty shot and making numerous other big stops for the Crimson.
Through the end of the first half,
Zoe Banks was 3 for 3 on five-meter penalty shots and three of the six seniors had found the back of the net. The Crimson lead 9-4 after the first two-quarters of play thanks in part due to great goaltending from
Zoe Banks.
Evan Tingler and
Grace Thawley finished the game with a hat trick.
