New York, NY – No. 72 Harvard women's tennis (11-9, 3-2 Ivy) were edged 3-4 in a heartbreaker to Columbia (10-7, 4-1 Ivy) on Sunday, April 16.

Starting in doubles, Harvard was able to get off to a hot start. In the second position, Sophia Ho and Maxi Duncan achieved an impressive 6-1 win over Columbia's Rachele Rimondini and Shivani Amineni. A 6-4 win from Charlotte Owensby and Angel You in the three position secured the doubles point for the Crimson. The Crimson has now won the doubles point in six straight matches.

In singles, Angel You capped off an impressive weekend by defeating Columbia's Shivani Amineni 6-2, 0-6, 6-2 in the four spot. You went a perfect 2-0 in both her doubles and singles matches over the weekend. In the three position, Sophia Ho defeated Columbia's Rachele Rimondini 6-3, 6-3.

Tied at 3-3, the match would come down to Harvard's Charlotte Owensby vs. Columbia's Anna Zhang in the one position. Owensby would take the first set 7-5. However, Zheng would take sets two and three, giving the Lions the 4-3 win.

Harvard will play its final matches of the season, wrapping up Ivy League play at home against Penn on Saturday, April 22, at 1 p.m., and No. 55 Princeton on Sunday at 1 p.m. Both matches will be streamed on Stretch Internet. However, Harvard's match vs. Princeton will also stream on Cracked Racquets.
