JACKSONVILLE, Fl. –
Maia Ramsden and
Estel Valeanu closed out the NCAA East Regional Prelims with top-12 finishes in their events that will send them to the NCAA Championship meet. This brings Harvard's total competitors in Austin to 10, a new program record.
Ramsden punched her second ticket to the NCAA Championship meet by breaking a personal and school record in the 5000m by running a 15:40:05.
Saturday's events included women's national first round competition in the field events and quarterfinals in all track individual and relay events besides the 5,000m run, which was a semifinal race.
Harvard Highlights
• Ramsden punched her ticket to the NCAA Championship meet in the 1500m run for the second year in a row, finishing second in her heat and ninth in the east with a time of 4:14.52 to qualify for the next round.
• Valeanu threw for a distance of 54.07m to finish eighth and secure her spot at the national championship meet in June.
• Three Crimson athletes competed for a spot in the 5000m run at the NCAA championship. Ramsden punched her second ticket to the championship meet, finishing sixth in 15:40.05 and setting a new school record.
Maya Rayle finished 39
th in 16:41.41 and
Ella Gilson returned for her second race to finish 44
th in 17:06.11.

Chloe Fair finished 21
st in the East region and seventh in her heat running a time of 59.70 to close out her first-year season with the Crimson.
• The women's 4x400m relay team finished in 13
th in the East with a time of 3:40.73.
