LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Chase Yager, a Harvard Men's Lacrosse standout, added to his collection of awards this week as the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) named him a Division I Scholar All-American. One of only 110 players in the nation to earn the distinction, Yager adds this award to his Academic All-Ivy, NEILA All-Academic, and Honorable Mention All-Ivy League honors.
Â
The USILA Scholar All-American program, presented by Blatant Lacrosse, included a Harvard lacrosse student-athlete for the second straight season. Additionally, Yager was one of just ten Ivy Leaguers who earned the title.
Â
The Scholar All-American nod caps off an incredible two-year run by Yager, who joined the Crimson for the 2022 season after transferring from DIII Amherst College. In his short time at the Divion I level, Yager established himself as one of the best cover midfielders in college lacrosse on the field, earning Honorable Mention All-Ivy League honors in both 2022 and 2023. The Norfolk Academy product matched his high-level of performance on the field in the classroom, twice being named as the team's Academic All-Ivy nominee and now adding a Scholar All-American title to his collection.
Â
A Virginia Beach native, Yager caused 14 turnovers and grabbed 27 groundballs in his senior campaign, chipping in on the offensive end as well by collecting five points on three goals and two assists.
Â
In 2022, Yager helped Harvard return to the national spotlight by contributing to an 8-4 record, the best mark in nearly a decade, and a selection into the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2014.
