FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The No. 25 Harvard women's soccer team cruised to a 3-0 victory in its first match of the season today, defeating the Fairfield Stags on their home turf. The Crimson (1-0-0, 0-0-0 Ivy) used three second half goals to power the winning effort.

Jasmine Leshnick and Olof Kristindottir both scored goals in their collegiate debuts.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After trading possession for much of the first 15 minutes, Harvard took control and made a formidable offensive push.
- The Crimson put three shots on goal in the first 45. Hasbo, Hannah Bebar and Ava Lung fired the shots for Harvard.
- Harvard held possession for 62-percent of the first half and owned a 6-1 advantage on corner kicks.
- Early in the second half, Gabby DelPico was fouled after making a strong run into the box and was awarded a penalty kick. The Crimson elected Hasbo to take the kick, and she answered the call, slamming home the PK for Harvard's first goal of the season.
- Just five minutes later in the 55' minute, Anya Van Den Einde fed a beautiful ball into the box off a corner kick set piece to find Jasmine Leshnick, who headed home the goal. It was the first goal of Leshnick's career and the first assist for Van Den Einde.
- Harvard stayed aggressive, finding a third goal just four minutes later in the 59' minute. This time, it was Leshnick who fed a ball into the box, finding Olof Kristindottir, who found the twine for the first time in her young career.
- Anna Karpenko was tested twice by the Stags late in the contest and kept the sheet clean after making a pair of saves.
- Harvard continued pressuring for the remainder of the contest that ended in a 3-0 Harvard win.

- The Crimson are 1-0 for the third straight season.
