No. 15 Field Hockey Hosts Dartmouth and Northeastern to Open 2023 Home Schedule

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – No. 15 Harvard Field Hockey returns to Berylson Field on Friday for its first game at home in 2023. The Crimson will host Dartmouth on Friday at 5:00 p.m. as its first Ivy League opponent of the year before a Sunday clash with rival Northeastern at 1:00 p.m. The game against the Big Green will be streamed on NESN+ while the Sunday game against the Huskies will be streamed on ESPN+. 
WHAT TO KNOW
  • The Crimson currently sits at 2-2 after two very tough weekends on the road. Harvard defeated Umass to open the season before beating No.15 UConn for the first time since 2005.
  • Harvard has gone to overtime twice in four games this year. Marie Schaefers scored her first goal of the season in the overtime to help defeat UConn while first-year Sage Piekarski scored late in the fourth quarter to push the game against Liberty to overtime. 
  • Last season, the Crimson won its home opener against No. 24 Miami (OH) after a goal from Bronte-May Brough in overtime. 
  • Harvard is 5-2 in home openers since 2015. 
  • Harvard has won five of the last seven matchups with the Huskies. 
  • Harvard defeated Northeastern 2-0 in their last matchup with goals from Bronte-May Brough and Lucy Leel.
  • Harvard currently is riding an 8-game win streak over the Big Green
  • Last season Harvard traveled to Dartmouth and beat them in a tight game by a score of 3-2. 
  • Harvard has an all-time record of 21-23-4 against Dartmouth and 19-28 against Northeastern.

Harvard hosts Northeastern on Sunday at 12:00 p.m. Looking ahead to the following weekend the Crimson remain home to play Brown on Sept. 22 at 6:00 p.m. and Duke on Sept. 24 at 1:00 p.m.
