Evan Nelson will miss the 2023-24 season following successful left Achilles surgery while junior forward
Bennett Pitcher will medically retire after sustaining a left knee injury,
Tommy Amaker, The Thomas G. Stemberg '71 Family Endowed Coach for Harvard Men's Basketball, announced on Wednesday.
Nelson injured his left Achilles against the University of Toronto on Aug. 25 during the Crimson's foreign tour in Canada.
After missing the last two seasons due to knee injuries, Pitcher sustained an additional left knee injury during Harvard's time in Canada. Pitcher will remain a part of the Harvard program moving forward.
Nelson will continue to serve the Crimson as a team captain and leader while recovering from surgery during the 2023-24 season and will look to return to competition for the 2024-25 campaign.
