Women’s Ice Hockey Falls to No. 6 Quinnipiac

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's hockey dropped an ECAC contest to the sixth-ranked Quinnipiac Bobcats tonight at the Bright-Landry Hockey Center tonight after an 8-0 final. The Crimson (3-13-1, 1-10-1 ECACH) had a number of quality looks that came up short in the effort.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Harvard welcomed Quinnipiac to the Bright-Landry Hockey Center to begin its first ECAC series of the second half.
  • After a strong opening stretch, that featured a stout Harvard defensive stand, Quinnipiac managed to sneak one past Alex Pellicci to take a 1-0 lead seven minutes into the action.
  • The Bobcats added three more goals to its total in the first period to go into the break with a 4-0 advantage.
  • After one more Quinnipiac goal to open the period, Harvard began to work the puck deep in the Quinnipiac zone. The Crimson outshot the Bobcats 9-8 for the next 10 minutes but could not find the twine.
  • Quinnipiac put one more tally on the board, taking a 6-0 advantage into the second intermission.
  • Despite a number of quality looks in the third period – including two breakaway opportunities – the Crimson could not get a tally on the board.
  • Quinnipiac skated out of Boston with an 8-0 victory after adding another pair of goals in the final period.
