SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Men's water polo split its two games on Saturday after defeating hosts Santa Clara 11-10 before falling to No. 4 Pacific 14-13 in the afternoon game.
In game one, the Crimson staged a fourth-quarter comeback after putting up five goals in the final eight minutes to beat the host Broncos. Harvard led 6-5 at the half but was outscored 4-0 in the third quarter before big goals from
Owen Hale and
Jack Burghardt helped lead the Crimson to a win over No. 17 Santa Clara.
The Crimson tried to stage another late-game comeback in the night game after putting up another four goals in the fourth but one goal from Pacific in the final minutes was enough to secure the victory. Harvard trailed 10-9 at the half.
