NEW ROCHELLE, NY. – Men's Water Polo swept the Saturday doubleheader to start the conference slate with a pair of wins after a 24-12 win over LIU and a 13-7 win over Iona. Harvard completes the road trip tomorrow after a game against the No. 9 Princeton.
James Rozolis Hill added 11 goals on the day as the sophomore now sits only six goals away from becoming the all-time program leader.
GAME 1: Harvard 24, LIU 12
- The 24-goal outburst marks the second time this season the Crimson has scored 20 or more goals while also being the second consecutive game with 20 or more goals.
- The Crimson has scored 63 goals in its last three games heading into the afternoon game with Iona.
- The Crimson offense exploded in the first quarter after getting out to a 9-2 lead. James Rozolis-Hill scored the first three goals for Harvard as the junior completed the hat-trick less than eight minutes into the game. The junior finished the game with five goals.
- Owen Hale, Jack Burghardt, and Lukas Peabody all added hat-tricks in the win.
- Dean Strauser and Mason Hunt added a pair of goals.
- Both netminders split time in the cage as Tanner Furtak made eight saves including five in the fourth quarter. Oliver Price finished with seven saves.
GAME 2: Harvard 13, Iona 7
- James Rozolis-Hill netted another six goals in the late game against LIU bringing his total up to 11 goals on the day as he approaches the all-time program goals record.
- Owen Hale added three goals and a helper.
- Vilas Sogaard-Srikrishnan also added a pair of goals.
- The Crimson led 4-3 at the end of the first quarter and then added on four more goals as Harvard led 8-4 at the break.
