PRINCETON, N.J. – Harvard Men's Water Polo claimed third place at the NWPC Championship with a 20-9 win over the Iona Gaels on Sunday afternoon.
The Crimson established control early, racing to a 6-1 lead in the first quarter. Harvard kept up the momentum throughout the match, scoring six goals in both the first and second quarters to build an eight-goal advantage by halftime. Harvard's offensive and defensive play carried through the second half, sealing a 20-9 win.
HARVARD HIGHLIGHTS
- Owen Hale led the Crimson attack with five goals, including a backhanded goal and two goals in the fourth quarter.
- James Rozolis-Hill scored four goals, including his 123rd of the season, setting a new personal record.
- Tyler Zarcu added two goals, and three assists.
- Vilas Sogaard-Srikrishnan netted two goals and added two assists.
- Lukas Peabody tallied two goals and four assists.
- Tyler Hogan, Mason Hunt, Mot Stothart, Cyrus Symington, and Bradford Dickson each scored once.
- Goalies Tanner Furtak and Oliver Price combined eight saves, with Furtak making three and Price adding five.
