Women’s Hockey Falls to Princeton Tigers at Home, 5-3

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Gabi Davidson Adams, Gwyn Lapp and Kaley MacDonald found the net, but the Harvard Crimson fell to the Princeton Tigers at home, 5-3.

How It Happened

Harvard fell behind early after a quick score by Princeton's Jane Kuehl. Despite the early setback, goalkeeper Emily Davidson made eight saves in the first period, including several crucial stops while the team was on the penalty kill.

Sophomore Maria Pape was a standout on defense, blocking three shots and helping the Crimson tally a total of 13 blocks in the first period.

Midway through the second period, Princeton's Emerson O'Leary added to Princeton's tally. However, Gabi Davidson Adams answered back with a goal, assisted by sophomore Brooke Manning, marking Davidson Adams' second goal of the season and Manning's first assist.

Princeton scored three unanswered goals in the second and third periods to pull ahead decisively.

In the third period, junior Gwyn Lapp found the net, thanks to a beautiful assist from senior Mia Biotti, scoring Harvard's second goal of the game.

With less than 30 seconds to spare, Kaley MacDonald notched her first goal of the year.

The Crimson generated 19 shots on goal but managed to connect on three. Emily Davidson ended the match with an impressive 35 saves.
