Story Links

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. –  Callie Hem and Maddie Barkate scored a combined 11 goals as the Crimson cruised to a 21-6 victory over Colgate on Saturday afternoon. Leading from the start, Harvard outscored the Raiders 13-2 heading into the half as nine different players found the back of the cage in the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Crimson scored first after Maddie Barkate put away a pass from Caroline Mullahy. Making a quick behind-the-back move, the senior scored her first of four goals on the day to open the scoring.
  • Eight seconds later, Grace Mullahy scored the second goal of the game to have the Crimson off and running in the opening minutes. Mullahy fired a quick shot off a pass from Ilana Kofman for her first career goal.
  • Maddie Barkate added the next two goals for Harvard to stretch the lead to 4-0 to give the Crimson a commanding lead at the end of the first quarter.
  • Adding her fourth goal of the game, Barkate scored three consecutive goals for the Crimson after scoring to start the second quarter.
  • Callie Hem, last year's leading scorer, added her first of the season in the second quarter to stretch the lead to 6-0.
  • Captains Ilana Kofman and Riley Campbell traded goals to stretch the lead to 11-2. Kofman finished a feed from Caroline Mullahy while Campbell added her second of the game off a free position shot.
  • Callie Hem scored four consecutive goals in the third quarter for the Crimson to help cap off a career day.
  • First-years, Callie Batchelder, Stella Shea, Natasha Tribolet, and Grace Mullahy all scored their first career goals today.
  • Senior Chloe Provenzano made four saves in the cage as all three goalies split time in the win.
