CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's tennis will return to their home courts for the first time since the season opener as they're set to host the 2024 ECAC Championship. Competition for the Crimson will kick off at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 8 from the Murr Center as it takes on Yale in the opening round.
What to Know
- The Crimson will also host Princeton, Cornell, Columbia, Brown, Dartmouth, and Penn to battle for the 2024 ECAC Championship in a three-day tournament set up.
- Last season the Crimson went 2-1 at the ECAC Indoors, ultimately taking third by defeating the six-seeded Columbia on the final day of competition. Harvard will look to win its opening round match for the second straight year after downing Cornell to start play in 2023.
- The Brown Bears enter the tournament as the reigning champion after stunning top-seeded Princeton in the finals last year.
- Harvard has had a strong start to its 2024 spring campaign, sitting with just one loss through five matches. The Crimson have picked up strong wins over Boston College, Rice, DePaul, and Nebraska while only falling to No. 10 Texas A&M.
- In its last time out, the Crimson closed out its four-match road stretch with two resilient wins in Nebraska. To close out their 2-0 weekend, Harvard downed Nebraska 4-2 by winning three consecutive singles matches after falling behind 2-1.
- Kate Kim and Maxi Duncan lead the team in dual singles wins having both registered four throughout the first five contests. Kim who remains undefeated also leads the team in overall singles wins with a record of 14-3.
- Stephanie Yakoff joins Kim in double-digit singles victories as the first-year has already accumulated ten in her first collegiate season.
- Although having only teamed up twice prior to the start of dual competition, Natalie Block and Sany Gawande have been consistent performers in doubles action for the Crimson. Playing all their matches at the No. 3 position, the duo is 3-0 so far this spring including coming from behind to help secure the doubles point against Nebraska.

With a win tomorrow the Crimson would advance to semifinals for the fourth straight competition season and would face the winner of No. 1 Princeton vs. No. 8 Cornell at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 10.
