Women's Ice Hockey Tripped Up by Brown

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's hockey fell 3-1 to the Brown Bears on Friday afternoon. The Crimson fought until the end in this close, defensive matchup, but ultimately fell short.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Harvard matched up against Brown for the second time this season on Friday afternoon.

  • After an early goal by Brown, Emily Davidson saved the next 10 shots she faced in the first period.

  • The Crimson successfully killed off a penalty, keeping Brown at bay at the beginning of the second period.

  • Brown was able to get their second goal of the game early in the second period.

  • Davidson continued to fend off pucks, saving 10 shots in the second period alone.

  • The penalty kill unit was able to prove effective once again early in the third, going 2-for-2 on the afternoon.

  • Brown was able to sneak another one past Davidson increasing its lead to 3-0.

  • After many shots blocked by defenders on the ice, Gwyn Lapp was finally able to wrap around the back of the net and score, decreasing Brown's lead by one.

  • A series of Harvard chances were turned away before pulling Davidson for an extra attacker. Brown would hold off the Crimson for the remainder of regulation, to walk away with a 3-1 win.
