PHILADELPHIA – No. 21 women's lacrosse fell to No. 15 Penn 18-8 on Sunday afternoon.
Riley Campbell and
Maddie Barkate each scored twice for the Crimson in its second Ivy game this season. Originally scheduled for Saturday, the game was moved to Sunday due to inclement weather. The finale of a three-game road swing the Crimson returns to Jordan Field next weekend to face Dartmouth.
HARVARD HIGHLIGHTS
- The Crimson trailed 5-2 after the first quarter of play.
- First-quarter goals from Maddie Barkate and Ilana Kofman had the Crimson with a 2-1 lead less than three minutes into the game.
- Chloe Provenzano made 12 stops in the game with one of her best coming in the second quarter keeping it a 5-2 game.
- Barkate went on to add her second of the game in the second quarter.
- Callie Hem scored her first of the game after weaving through the Quakers' defense to make it 11-6.
- Maddie Barkate finished the game with seven draw controls.
- Stella Shea recorded three caused turnovers.
