Women's Water Polo

Women's Water Polo Prepped for West Coast Swing

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – No. 19 women's water polo is set to head west this weekend to begin a four-game road swing in Arizona and California. Coming off a 2-1 weekend in a conference weekend from DeNunzio Pool, the Crimson will play four ranked opponents in every game on the trip. 
 
Opening with No.8 Arizona on Saturday, the Crimson will quickly head over to California for a Sunday doubleheader before a meeting with No. 9 Long Beach State on Tuesday to wrap up the trip. 
 
WHAT TO KNOW 
  • Emma Gilbert picked up her second Rookie of the Week nod after picking up four goals in three games in New Jersey. 
  • The Crimson has won four of the last six games. 
  • This is the second time the Crimson has played ranked opponents in back-to-back games this season. 
  • Harvard will end up playing five consecutive games against ranked opponents by the end of the trip after playing No. 8 ASU, No. 3 Stanford, No. 21 San Diego State, and No. 9 Long Beach State.
  • The Crimson defeated ASU last season in overtime for its first win over a top-10 team in program history. 
  • Erin Kim netted a pair of goals in the fourth quarter to help force overtime over the then-ranked No. 9 Sun Devils. 

NEXT UP 
The Crimson will remain on the road for another conference weekend in Pennsylvania where it will play Bucknell, Michigan, and Saint Francis before returning to Blodgett for Senior Day.
