CAMBRIDGE, Mass. –
Tiahna Padilla has been named among the four finalists for the MA Sorensen Award. The award is given annually to the best women's collegiate rugby player in the nation.
The award is named after World Cup-winning Eagle MA Sorensen, a player, coach and doctor who served as a trailblazer for future generations of women's rugby players. An awards panel will vote on the winner, including MA Sorensen herself. The award celebration will be held in June at the Washington Athletic Club in Seattle, Wash.
Padilla was an integral part of the Crimson offense during the fall 15s season and continues to be stellar in the spring 7s season. Padilla finished the fall season with six tries and 13 assists for 30 points. She was selected to First-Team All-NIRA after the team's national championship win.
Padilla was named to the USA U20 Roster and helped the team to victories over Canada and Wales this past summer. She was also named as a finalist for this award last year.
