CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's water polo defeated Saint Francis University in the first round of the CWPA tournament by a score of 12-9 on Friday evening at Blodgett Pool. The first of seven games this weekend at Blodgett, the Crimson picked up a lead in the second quarter and never looked back as it will now advance to play Michigan in the semi-finals tomorrow at 12:00 p.m. 
 
HARVARD HIGHLIGHTS

• Ruby Hodge opened the scoring by picking the corner to get the Crimson on the board. 
• The Crimson trailed 2-1 until Dany Zapata found just enough space between the post and the keeper to tie the game at two. 
• Sasha Constandse finished off a beautiful passing play cross pool to help build the Crimson lead. 
• Rookie of the Year Maya O'Dea scored her first of the game to double the Crimson lead. 
• Saint Francis pulled within two in the fourth quarter until Heidi Heffelfinger scored her first of the game to help secure the win. 
• Ruby Hodge and Maya O'Dea both finished with a pair of goals. 
• Emma Gilbert also found the back of the net twice. 
• Lily Britt, Lucy Berkman, and Ella Schneider scored one each. 
• Heffelfinger also finished the game with three helpers.
• Alexis Kieckhafer made four stops.
