CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's water polo fell in the third-place game to the Brown Bears in its final game of the season on Sunday morning. Coming back from multiple two-goal deficits, the Crimson pushed the game to overtime but ultimately fell 13-12.
Emma Gilbert netted five goals, including two in overtime, in a great effort on Sunday morning while
Erin Kim scored with less than thirty seconds remaining to give the Crimson a late lead.
Gilbert earned Rookie of the Tournament for her play over the last three games.
HARVARD HIGHLIGHTS
- Alexis Kieckhafer made multiple big stops in the second half in key moments for the Crimson defense. A one-goal game for the majority of the second-half, Kieckhafer made an impressive pair of stops in overtime after blocking the rebound as well.
- Kieckhafer ended the day with 12 stops.
- Erin Kim completed the hat-trick after scoring back-to-back goals for the Crimson in the fourth quarter and overtime periods.
- Heidi Heffelfinger and Kaity Greenwald both scored once.
- Ruby Hodge scored in overtime.
- Sasha Constandse and Maya O'Dea both netted one goal each.
