Women's Lacrosse Picks Up Another Conference Win In 13-5 Victory Over Cornell

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – No. 24 Harvard women's lacrosse completed the perfect homestand after defeating Cornell 13-5 on Saturday afternoon. Winning three games in seven days, the Crimson now sit at 8-2 through ten games this season and improve to 3-1 in Ivy League Play.

Harvard jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first quarter after another stellar defensive quarter to open the game. The Crimson took that first-quarter lead and never looked back after another decisive victory.

Cornell pulled it to 9-4 at the end of the third quarter but three quick goals from Charlotte Hodgson, Riley Campbell, and Ilana Kofman helped put the game out of reach to start the fourth quarter.

HARVARD HIGHLIGHTS
  • Riley Campbell added another hat-trick in the Ivy win.
  • Just before the half, Riley Campbell, Callie Hem, and Stella Shea had combined for all seven goals with Campbell and Hem tallying six of the seven.
  • Caroline Mullahy's two assists in the first half helped move her into second place all-time in single-season assists. Mullahy sits only eight back of the program record of 48 set back in 1983. Mullahy finished the game with four helpers.
  • Despina Giannakopoulos was great defensively for the Crimson after registering a career-high nine ground balls and two caused turnovers.
GAME NOTES

  • Campbell finishes the week with 14 goals in three games.
