Men's Heavyweight Rowing Claims Harvard-Yale Title For the First Time Since 2014

NEW LONDON, Conn. –– Harvard men's heavyweight rowing claimed the first Harvard-Yale championship title since 2014 with a win in the first varsity eight on Saturday, June 8th. The boat took a commanding lead in the first two miles of the four-mile course and never looked back.

The oldest event in American collegiate sports continued this weekend for the 157th time. Harvard had not won the race against the Bulldogs since 2014. This year, the Crimson came out on top: Harvard 19:40.2, Yale 19:44.8. The first varsity eight consisted of: Ben Ray (Cox), Ben Scott (Stroke), Josh Brangan, Tyler Horler, Cam Beyki, Leo Bessler, Gabe Obholzer, Tom O'Sullivan, and Tom Horncastle.
The second and third varsity eight both placed second, completing all-around seasons for both crews.
