CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Seven Harvard men's heavyweight rowing alums are in Amsterdam for the World Rowing Championship with five set to compete and two serving as spares for their respective country. Harvard head coach Charley Butt and assistant coach Tom Siddal are also representing Harvard on the Team USA coaching staff.
Pieter Quinton '20, an Olympic medalist, will race for the United States in the 4-. Recent Harvard graduate
Leo Bessler '26 will serve as a spare for Team USA.
Team Great Britain features three former Crimson athletes, including All-American Gabriel Obholzer '25 with the 8+ and Douwe de Graaf '23 with the 4-. Another recent grad,
Cameron Beyki '26 is a spare rower for GBR.
Rounding out the Harvard contingent is
Jack Dorney '26 with the Ireland 4- and captain/varsity stroke
Ben Scott '26 with the Australia 4-.
