Jade Rose ’25 Selected to Canadian Women’s National Team for 2024 Paris Olympics

OTTAWA, ONTARIO, CANADA – Harvard women's soccer will be represented at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris by rising senior defender and captain, Jade Rose, who was announced to the 18-woman roster for Team Canada this morning. Rose will make history when she travels to Paris for the games, becoming the first women's soccer Olympian in program history. The Markham, Ontario native will now look to help team Canada when it begins its Gold Medal defense later this month.

Rose has earned 21 caps for Team Canada after joining the senior national team in 2022. The side has posted a record of 13-1-7 with Rose in the lineup since her debut. Currently ranked as the no. 8 team in the world, Canada Soccer will compete in Group A at the Paris Olympic Games against New Zealand, Colombia and the host nation, France.

One of the best defenders in the collegiate game, Rose has been nothing but brilliant since joining the Crimson prior to the 2022 season. She has helped Harvard make it to three consecutive NCAA Tournaments while earning back-to-back Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year honors.

The players will first head to Marbella, Spain for a pre-camp (July 7-18) where they will face Australia in a broadcasted friendly on Sunday 14th July, and Nigeria in a closed-door match.
