CAMBRIDGE, Mass. –– Harvard men's lightweight rowing's varsity eight won by open water on Tuesday, July 2nd. In the first day of competition at the Henley Royal Regatta, the varsity eight jumped out to an early lead vs. St. Edward's School and never looked back. The Crimson finished with a time of 6:32 and a four and a half boat length victory.

The Varsity eight boat consists of Anya Cheng (Cox), James Stevenson (Stroke), Ben Lundie, Brahm Erdmann, Zarret Mills, Preston Darling, Ryan McCarthy, Alex Forbes, and Kyle Sutherland. 

Harvard has moved on in the Temple Challenge Cup and will continue to race tomorrow. Its next opponent and schedule of race will be determined later this afternoon.
