Elizabeth Tartakovsky '23 and Team USA took the strip for the women's saber team event at the 2024 Paris Olympics, as the United States finished in fifth place.
Starting the tournament as the No. 5 seed, Team USA faced No. 4 seed South Korea in the quarterfinals. After losing opening bout against Sebin Choi, Tartakovsky bounced back with a 7-5 win against Jisu Yoon before falling to Hayoung Jeon in the final bout of the contest. South Korea advanced to the semifinals with a 45-35 win against the United States.
In its second match of the day, the United States faced No. 8 seed Algeria. Tartakovsky dominated the competition, winning her first two bouts of the match by a combined score of 10-3. In the final bout of the match, Tartakovsky clinched the United States' victory against Algeria with five touches, 45-28.
Facing No. 2 seed Hungary in their final match, Tartakovsky kept the United States in the mix, as she defeated Anna Marton in her opening bout of the contest, 7-5. Tartakovsky found more success in her second bout, as she bested Sugar Katinka Battai, 8-5. Team USA secured fifth place honors with a 45-39 win against Hungary.
