Women’s Rugby Stays Unbeaten with 50–17 Win Over Sacred Heart on Senior Day

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard women's rugby team celebrated Senior Day in dominant fashion, defeating Sacred Heart University 50–17 at Mignone Field. With the victory, the Crimson improve to a perfect 6–0 on the season, continuing their strong form in NIRA play.

The day began with a pregame ceremony honoring Harvard's senior class for their dedication and leadership throughout their careers. The energy carried seamlessly into the opening whistle, as the Crimson wasted no time taking control of the match.

Harvard struck first when Cameron Fields broke through the Sacred Heart defensive line to score the opening try, putting the Crimson ahead 7–0. The Pioneers responded with a well-executed grubber kick that led to a try, leveling the score at 7–7.

Undeterred, the Crimson regained the lead as first-year Gemma Ogoke powered through several Pioneer defenders to cross the try line, giving Harvard a 14–7 advantage. Sacred Heart answered with a penalty kick to narrow the margin, but Harvard continued to apply relentless pressure. Before halftime, first-year Maddie Hubbell showcased her speed and agility to find the try zone, pushing the Crimson lead to 21–10 at the break.

The second half saw Harvard's attack shift into another gear. Fields opened the scoring once again with an electrifying run, evading multiple tacklers before diving into the try zone for her second of the day to extend the lead to 28–10.

Ogoke continued her impressive debut season with two more tries in the second half, displaying exceptional power and determination to complete a hat trick. The Crimson's offensive rhythm remained sharp as first-year Sana'a Lunon added another try, finishing a well-built team sequence.

To cap off the afternoon, Dana Greer powered through the Sacred Heart defense for the final score of the match, bringing the total to 50–17.

Harvard (6–0) will look to carry its momentum into the final weeks of the regular season as the team eyes another strong postseason run in the NIRA Championship.
