Men's Lightweights Sweep Titles and Deliver Strong Club 4+ Finishes at 60th Head of the Charles

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — The Harvard men's lightweight rowing team delivered another weekend of dominance on their home course at the 60th Annual Head of the Charles Regatta (HOCR). The Crimson captured victories in both the Lightweight Eight and Lightweight Four on Sunday, completing a clean sweep of the program's events, while also earning top-15 finishes in Saturday's Club 4+ races.

With more than 11,000 athletes and 200,000 spectators converging on the Charles River for the historic 60th running of the regatta, Harvard's lightweights once again rose to the occasion — highlighted by their fourth consecutive Lightweight Eight title.

Saturday, October 18 — Men's Club 4+

Harvard 'A' (Bow #9) – 4th Place (16:38.843)

Racing early on Saturday, the "A" crew earned a 4th-place finish with a time of 16:38.843, narrowly behind Riverside and Dartmouth. The crew showed impressive consistency, maintaining tight margins throughout the course and finishing as the top collegiate lightweight entry in the event.

Harvard 'B' (Bow #12) – 12th Place (14:12.960)

Sunday, October 19 — Men's Lightweight 8+ and 4+

Lightweight 8+ (Bow #1) – 1st Place (13:51.277)

Harvard's top lightweight eight continued its reign atop the event, finishing first in 13:51.277 to claim the program's fourth straight Head of the Charles victory. The Crimson took the lead from the opening strokes and extended their advantage across every split, finishing more than 15 seconds ahead of Cornell and nearly half a minute clear of Penn.
The result cements Harvard's dominance in the lightweight eight, with four consecutive victories at the world's most prestigious fall regatta.

Lightweight 4+ (Bow #3) – 1st Place (15:40.880)

The Harvard "A" four delivered another title, winning in 15:40.880 to complete the Crimson's Sunday sweep. The crew executed a disciplined race plan, setting a fast early rhythm and maintaining a decisive margin through the finish — topping Cornell and Penn by wide margins.
