How it Happened
The Crimson's final tournament of the Fall season took the team to Delaware to compete in the Lady Blue Hen Invitational. The Crimson was looking to close out the season strong after solid showings in the previous two tournaments.
Harvard got off to a great start in the first round, posting a team score of 293 (+5) to move into first place after 18 holes of action.
Vanessa Zhang led the team with a first round score of 67 (-5) while
Iris Wang's 74 (+2) and
Lucy Yuan's 75 (+3) helped the Crimson take ahold of the top spot.
Bonnie Zhai bounced back strong in the second round on Saturday, posting a three-under round of 69 to lead the team in scoring. Zhang shot an even-par 72 and Wang matched her first-round score with a two-over which helped Harvard post the lowest team score of the tournament. With a team score of 291 (+3), Harvard took sole possession of first place heading into the final round on Sunday.
Zhang's round of 71 (-1) on the final day of action was enough to help the sophomore take first place in the field. Her three-round score of 210 (-6) was the lowest in the field by seven strokes. Yuan's 76 (+4), Wang's 77 (+5) and
