CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's rugby closed out its 15s regular season in dominant fashion, defeating Princeton 81–7 at Mignone Field on Saturday afternoon. The Crimson displayed sharp offensive execution and balanced team play, with multiple players contributing to the scoring effort.
How It Happened
Princeton opened the match with strong defensive pressure, landing several solid tackles to slow Harvard's attack. However, the Crimson soon found their rhythm, where Dana Greer broke through to score the first try around the seven-minute mark.
Momentum quickly shifted in Harvard's favor as Cameron Fields recorded back-to-back tries, both converted by Evie Eyers to extend the lead. The Crimson continued to move the ball efficiently off the kickoff, and a strong push up the middle by Fields led to Harvard's third try of the game.
From there, the offense caught fire. Gemma Ogoke crossed the line, followed by another from Greer, marking her second of the day. Fields then completed her hat trick, pushing Harvard further ahead before Tihana Padilla capped off the first half with her first try, with a first half score of 39-0.
The Crimson maintained their intensity after the break, with tries from Skylar Jordan, Josephine Migone, and Victoria Stanley. Madelyn Hubbell powered in for two consecutive tries, and Sabine Fuchs sealed the match with the final score of the afternoon.
Evie Eyers was consistent from the tee, converting multiple two-point kicks to add valuable points throughout the contest.
