CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's volleyball (3-8, 2-1 Ivy) will return to Cambridge this weekend as it hosts Penn (6-7, 0-3 Ivy) on Friday, October 10 at 7:00 p.m. ET and Princeton (7-4, 2-1 Ivy) on Saturday, October 11 at 6:00 p.m. ET. The contests will be the first Ivy League battles inside the Malkin Athletic Center in 2025.
What to Know
- Harvard went 1-1 in its first Ivy back-to-back last season, falling to Cornell and defeating Columbia, both in 3-0 fashion.
- The Crimson currently ranks fifth in the conference standings but is deadlock at 2-1 with Princeton, Brown, and Yale.
- In its sweep over the Lions, Sofia Rossi led the offensive effort with 11 kills and a .286 hitting percentage. The first-year currently leads the Crimson with 112 kills this season and ranks ninth in the Ivy League with 2.87 kills per set.
- Ryleigh Patterson returned to the court for the first time in nearly a month this past weekend, providing two all-around performances. The junior totaled 14 kills while hitting at a .402 clip while also adding four aces and five blocks.
- As a team the first ranks atop the conference for both blocks (2.60/set) and aces (2.05/set) while also ranking second for opponent hitting percentage (.215).
- Both Taylor Larkin (first) and Riley Resmer (10th) rank inside the top 10 in the league for blocks per set with an average of 1.54 and 0.85, respectively. Nationally, Larkin ranks ninth in blocks per set.
- The Crimson currently trails 26-49 in the all-time series against the Quakers. This weekend, Harvard will look to snap a two-game skid against Penn.
- Harvard is outpaced 17-62 in the all-time series with the Tigers including having fallen in the last three meetings. The Crimson last defeated Princeton on October 6, 2023 on its home court.
