CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Melchoir Delloye and
Valdemar Pape advanced out of the first round of the ITA East Sectional Championship singles draw this afternoon in Chapel Hill, N.C.
Delloye faced off against Edoardo Cherie Ligniere (Clemson) and pulled out a three-set victory to advance to the round of 16. After dominating the first set 6-0, Delloye's opponent turned around with his own 6-2 win in the second set. The Harvard senior settled back in and won the third set, 6-3.
Pape recorded a convincing win over Adam Majchrzak (Old Dominion), winning in straight sets. The Crimson senior joined his co-captain in the round of 16 with a 6-3, 6-4 decision.
