Solovey Nets Game Winner as Ted Donato Records 324th Career Victory, Tying Bill Cleary

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Richard Gallant and Justin Solovey added third-period goals to lift Harvard to a 3–2 win over Yale as Ted Donato recorded his 324th career victory, tying Bill Cleary for the most in program history.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Yale opened the scoring on a shot from the point that beat Charette halfway through the period. A shot through traffic found the back of the net to give the Bulldogs the advantage.

Harvard responded with the equalizer with almost no time left on the clock, thanks to Joe Miller, who was in the right spot at the right time. On a missed one-timer that bounced to the far post, Miller netted his second goal of the season on the power play to bring the Crimson into the intermission tied up.

The second period saw both teams trade penalties, with neither able to grab the next goal. Harvard controlled much of the period with two good looks on the man advantage. Ryan Healey had the best look of the period as the defenseman fired a shot from the point that rang off the pipe.

Heading into the third tied, Richard Gallant gave Harvard the lead after Aidan Lane made a short pass over to the first-year, who wired a shot low glove for his second goal of the season. His first since opening night, the third-period marker had the Crimson off and running to start the period.

Shortly after, Ben MacDonald helped force a turnover in the neutral zone that sprung Justin Solovey on a breakaway. Making a quick move, Solovey went five-hole on Stark for his first of the season to give Harvard a 3–1 lead with time winding down in the third.

Yale was able to get one back late in the game, but Ben Charette and the Crimson shut the door to pick up their fourth ECAC win of the season.

Justin Solovey was awarded the Tim Taylor Cup as the MVP of the Harvard–Yale game.
