GREENVILLE, S.C. – Junior
Max Lane hit his first home run of the season, but Harvard University baseball fell to Michigan State University in seven innings, 14-1, on Friday night at Fluor Field in the series opener.
Continuing a stretch of five-straight games against opponents from the Big Ten and eight-straight against Power Four conference opponents, the Crimson (0-4) dropped the decision to the Spartans (7-1) who tallied eight runs in the first inning and six runs in the fourth.
Lane launched his second career home run with his solo shot to center field while junior
Jordan Kang posted his first triple of the year and second of his career. Both Lane and Kang went 2-for-3 at the plate on the night.

- Junior Max Lane went 2-for-3 with a home run, RBI, and run scored. He launched his first homer of the season and the second home run of his career.
- Junior Jordan Kang finished 2-for-3 with a triple – his first triple of the season and second of his career. Kang leads the Crimson with a .462 batting average over the season's first four games.

- Lane launched his first home run of the season with a solo shot to center field in the top of the fourth, winning the battle during a full count and making the score 8-1.
