SAN DIEGO, CALIF. - Women's water polo splits on the first day of the Aztec Invitational in San Diego, falling to USC, but finding a result against San Diego.
After a defeating loss against the USC Trojans, the Crimson bounced back to defeat UC San Diego, hoping to carry their momentum into day 2 of the Aztec Invitational.
GAME 1: HARVARD 10, USC 17
The Crimson fell early to USC, finding themselves down 7-3 at the end of the first quarter. While they struggled to find their groove against the number 2 team in the country, they kept the following quarters closer.
- Maya O'Dea lead the Crimson in scoring, finding the back of the net 3 times against the Trojans.
- Niki Piovan and Emma Gilbert both contributed to the Crimson's tally, each netting 2 goals.
- Orli Cooper racked up a total of 11 saves.
