Game Recap: Men's Ice Hockey |

Men's Hockey Falls To No. 18 Clarkson 2-1 in OT in Game Three

POTSDAM, NY. – Harvard men's hockey fell to Clarkson in overtime by a score of 2-1 in game three on Sunday evening. Despite forcing game three on Saturday night, the Crimson come up just short in the final game of the quarterfinals as the 2024-25 season comes to an end.

Aku Koskenvuo was stellar for the Crimson after making 37 saves on 39 shots in his fourth consecutive start and second straight overtime game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Crimson opened the scoring in game three after Mick Thompson scored his second shorthanded goal of the season. Going backhand top shelf for the lead, Thompson finishes the season with four goals and six points in four playoff games.

Koskenvuo was solid in the first, making 12 saves, with the Clarkson offense beginning to push their pace once they trailed by a goal.

The Crimson killed off its only penalty in the second period.

Clarkson scored halfway through the third period on the power-play to knot the game at one after it took a deflection through traffic to beat the junior.

Koskenvuo would go on to make many game saving stops for the Crimson in the final 10 minutes of regulation. The Finnish netminder would finish the period with 13 saves.

The Crimson had some good looks in the extra frame but couldn't find the back of the net as Clarkson was able to beat Koksenvuo off a blocked shot that bounced into the slot and was wrapped around the netminder to win the series.
