George Cooper hit a game-tying two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh, and Harvard University baseball powered past Holy Cross, 14-13, on Tuesday afternoon at Boston College's Eddie Pellagrini Diamond at the Harrington Athletics Village.
The Crimson (1-16) came back from deficits of 8-2 in the third, 12-8 in the fifth, and 13-10 in the seventh to upend the visiting Crusaders (11-13). Cooper tied the score at 12-12 with a two-run homer in the seventh before sophomore
Jack Rickheim plated the game's decisive run with an RBI single in the eighth.
As a team, Harvard tallied season highs in runs (14), hits (16), RBIs (14), doubles (three), home runs (two), and stolen bases (six). Nine members of the Crimson tallied hits, including multi-hit games from five student-athletes. Seven Harvard players posted RBIs in the contest.

On the mound, senior
Cole Cleary threw two scoreless innings in the eighth and ninth to earn the win, allowing no runs on one hit and one walk with a season-high four strikeouts over 2.0 innings.
Officials moved the contest to BC's Harrington Athletics Village due to weather and field conditions at the Crimson's O'Donnell Field.

- First-year Liam Wilson posted a career-high six RBIs alongside a home run, a double, and a run scored. He registered his second career home run and increased his season RBI total to 10 RBIs.
- Senior George Cooper went 3-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs, two runs scored, and a walk. He hit his third home run of the season, belted a homer for the second straight game, and registered his ninth career homer. He charted his second 3-hit game of the season.
- Sophomore Tyler Shulman finished 3-for-5 with an RBI, a run, and a stolen base. He posted a season-high three hits.
- Senior Matt Giberti recorded two RBIs, a triple, two runs scored, a walk, and a stolen base. He improved to 7-for-8 on the year on stolen base attempts.
- Junior Gio Colasante tallied a double, an RBI, two runs scored, a walk, and two stolen bases.
- Sophomore Jack Rickheim posted a 2-for-4 effort with an RBI and a run.
- Sophomore Ryan Mooney notched a 2-for-4 day at the plate, posting his first to collegiate hits and tacking on an RBI and a stolen base.
- Junior Callan Fang contributed a double and two runs scored, and junior Max Lane added a hit, two runs, a walk, and a stolen base.
- Senior right-hander Cole Cleary earned the win, tossing 2.0 innings of scoreless relief, allowing one hit and one walk with a season-high four strikeouts.
- As a team, Harvard tallied season highs in runs (14), hits (16), RBIs (14), doubles (three), home runs (two), and stolen bases (six). The Crimson totaled double-figure runs for the second time on the year and double-figure hits for the second time in 2025.

How It Happened
- Holy Cross opened the game with a 4-0 lead behind four runs in the top of the first.
- The Crimson notched its first run of the contest in the bottom of the first behind a ground ball from Colasante.
- The Crusaders moved the margin to 6-1 with a pair of runs in the top of the second.
- Harvard trimmed the deficit to 6-2 in the last of the second as Mooney lifted a sacrifice fly into right field.
- Holy Cross pulled ahead 8-2 with two more runs in the top of the third.
- A three-run home run to left field from Wilson and an RBI single to right field from Shulman allowed the Crimson to pull within 8-6 in the bottom of the third.
- The Crusaders added one run in the top of the fourth to take a 9-6 edge.
- Wilson drove a two-run double to left field to cut the deficit to 9-8 in the last of the fourth.
- Holy Cross tallied three runs in the fifth to push its advantage to 12-8.
- Harvard brought in two more runs behind a sacrifice fly from Giberti in the fifth and a ground ball from Wilson in the sixth to come within 12-10.
- The Crusaders took a 13-10 lead in the top of the seventh to make the difference 13-10.
- In the bottom of the seventh, Giberti sent an RBI triple to right center to start the frame's scoring before Cooper lifted a two-run home run to left field to knot the score at 13-13.
- Harvard took a 14-13 lead in the bottom of the eighth behind an RBI single up the middle from RIckheim.
- Cleary tossed a scoreless bottom of the ninth, including striking out the final two batters that he faced with runners on second and third.
