2024-25 Harvard Women's Squash Season Recap

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - 13 victories, an Ivy League Championship and a second-place finish in the national tournament highlighted another successful season for the Harvard Women's Squash team. One of the best teams in the nation from start to finish, the team came together in 2024-25 to add more honors to the program's long list of achievements.

Opening the year on a five-match win streak, the Crimson quickly hit its stride in regular season play. The team hit double-digit wins for the 17th consecutive season, posting a 11-1 record that was highlighted by an undefeated 6-0 mark in Ivy League play and the program's ninth consecutive Ivy League Championship. Harvard upset No. 1 Princeton on its home courts at the Murr Squash Center to secure the title.

The team's success in the league helped them earn four All-Ivy League Team honors while Mike Way, Hameed Ahmed and Luke Hammond secured their tenth consecutive Ivy League Women's Squash Coaching Staff of the Year Award. Saran Nghiem, Lucie Stefanoni and Caroline Fouts were all unanimously voted to the All-Ivy First Team and Habiba Eldafrawy earned second-team honors after remarkable results on court.

The Crimson also had a strong showing at the 2025 CSA Individual Nationals where four student-athletes competed in Ramsay Cup main draw, a total that was tied for the most in the country. Saran Nghiem and Caroline Fouts both advanced to the quarterfinal round to lead the Crimson while Ocean Ma took home a divisional championship at the national championships.

Harvard's success carried over to the CSA Team National Championships, where the team cruised to the Howe Cup Finals for the 14th time in the last 15 seasons after convincing victories over No. 7 Yale and No. 3 Princeton. After a narrow defeat in the finals against No. 1 Trinity, the Crimson emerged as the National Runner-up at the National tournament.

The Crimson's four-member senior class of Emma Carney, Habiba Eldafrawy, Amira Singh and Brecon Welch will now graduate from the program with two national championships, four Ivy League titles and 53 match victories to their names.

With a number of key student-athletes set to return next year, the Crimson will look to continue its run of success when the team hits the courts next November for the 2025-26 season.
