Harvard-Radcliffe Opens Big 10 Invitational with Strong Showing Across All Boats

SARASOTA, Fla. – Harvard-Radcliffe women's rowing completed a strong first day at the Big 10 Invitational, racing in two sessions against nationally ranked programs. Four boats took to the course in Sarasota, demonstrating consistency, competitiveness, and speed across both rounds of racing.

Harvard-Radcliffe will continue racing tomorrow morning, with races beginning at 10:20 a.m. ET against Miami, Notre Dame, Minnesota, UCLA, and Wisconsin.
 
 

First Varsity Eight (1V8)

The 1V8 set the tone early with a fast first session, finishing just 1.5 seconds behind Michigan. In the afternoon, the crew maintained that pace, earning a wire-to-wire win against Indiana and a deep field to close out the day on a high note.

Second Varsity Eight (2V8)

The 2V8 showed strong rhythm and control, placing second to Michigan in the morning session with a competitive 6:29.3. In the afternoon, the crew battled through a tight race to take second again, narrowly edged by Oklahoma in another solid performance.

The 1V4 crew opened the day with a second-place finish behind Michigan, holding off Duke in a competitive morning race. In the second session, they responded with a commanding victory, establishing early separation and extending their lead down the stretch.
