CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Harvard women's rugby delivered a strong showing at the Ivy 7s Tournament on home turf, advancing to the championship game before falling to Dartmouth in a hard-fought final. The Crimson finished the day 2–2, with standout performances across the board.
Game 1: Harvard 27, Princeton 7
Harvard opened the day with a commanding performance against Princeton. Cameron Fields set the tone early with a full-length try, sprinting the entire field to put Harvard on the board. Ava Ference followed shortly after, sneaking down the right sideline for a score off a slick assist from Fields. In the second half, Lennox London powered into the try zone to extend the lead, sealing a dominant 27–7 victory.
Game 2: Harvard 17, Dartmouth 22
In a tightly contested matchup, Dartmouth struck first with two early tries. Down 0–10, Harvard responded with a dazzling run from Fields, who scored from deep within her own territory to close the gap.
Lennox London added another, juking a defender for the score. With momentum on their side, Fields struck again, breaking through for a try that tied the game at 17–17. But Dartmouth found the edge and scored in the final moments to escape with the win.
Game 3: Harvard 26, Brown 7
Victoria Stanley opened the scoring with a blazing run, taking it to the house to ignite the Crimson attack. Brown answered to tie it 5–5 heading into the half. But the second half belonged to
Cameron Fields. She exploded for a long try right out of the break, then followed up with a highlight-reel run through three defenders—capping it with a stiff arm for her second try of the match and fifth of the day. Harvard cruised to a 26–7 win to advance to the championship game.
Game 4: Championship - Harvard vs. Dartmouth
In a hard-fought championship matchup, Dartmouth struck first to take an early lead. Cameron Fields answered for Harvard, finishing a try off a well-timed assist to level the score. But Dartmouth responded quickly and regained control — a lead they wouldn't relinquish.
From there, Dartmouth dictated the tempo, using disciplined defensive pressure to stifle the Crimson attack. Despite several surges forward, Harvard was unable to break through again, and Dartmouth's composed play secured them the title.
