Vanessa Zhang, Iris Wang, Earn All-Ivy Honors

PRINCETON, N.J. – Harvard women's golf had two of its student-athletes recognized on the Ivy League's end of year awards announcement this afternoon as Vanessa Zhang and Iris Wang each earned honors after remarkable seasons on the course. A first-year, Zhang was a unanimous selection to the All-Ivy First Team while junior captain, Iris Wang, was an Honorable Mention selection by the league's coaches.

The 29th First-Team selection in program history, Zhang becomes the first rookie golfer to be voted on to the All-Ivy League First Team since Belinda Hu '21 in 2018. Zhang caught fire in the Spring to lower her scoring average to a 72.6 while rising all the way up to No. 152 in the NCAA Individual rankings. A Vancouver native, Zhang made history at the 2025 Ivy League Championships, shooting a conference record 11-under-par to finish first overall and claim medalist honors and a spot in the NCAA Regional qualifier.

One of the best rookie seasons in program history, Zhang posted seven top 10 finishes and three top three placements in eight tournaments during the 2024-25 campaign. Second place finishes at the Terrapin Invitational and the DBU Patriot Invitational highlighted a season to remember for Zhang.

Junior captain Iris Wang received an Honorable Mention distinction from the Ivy League after another strong season with the Crimson. Wang posted a 75.0 scoring average in seven tournament this season while securing five top 25 finishes and three top 10 placements. A Hong Kong native, Wang's top finish of the season came at the DBU Patriot Invitational where she placed fourth with a tournament score of two-over-par. She ended the season strong with a ninth-place finish at the Ivy League Championship, helping the Crimson finish second overall in the field.

The Harvard women's golf team recently completed its 2024-25 season but Zhang will continue to compete at the NCAA Regionals next week (May 3-5). Zhang will travel to Columbus, Ohio to play at the OSU Golf Club where she will compete for a spot in the NCAA Championship which will be played in late May.
